Dog Training 101

Make Things Fun!

Training should be fun for you and your dog.

Plan Ahead! 

Identify Behaviors You want your Dog to know. 

Sit, Down, Stay, Wait, Recall.

Keep it simple in the beginning!

Make it easy enough for your dog to get it right.

Acknowledge and reward Good-Behavior you like when your dog does it.

Create a calm environment for learning.

Allow for mistakes.

Do not rush training. 

Take your time and pay attention to what your dog is doing.

Do not over train. 

Little bit at a time building upon your dogs successes 

Add new skills as you and your dog have successfully trained the previous ones. 

Team Work! 

Work together with family members or Co-workers. 

Make learning a regular part of your dogs life. 

Be proactive!
